The dead bodies of the 3 seasoned climbers, including our national hero Mr. Ali Sadpara, were found on K2 AKA “the Killer Mountain”. The bodies were spotted by a rope-fixing team, hanging 300-meters below the infamous Bottleneck near the base camp-4 of K2.
The information minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Mr. Fatehullah Khan, Monday, confirmed this development. Talking to a private TV channel, he confirmed that the dead bodies of legendary mountaineer Ali Sadpara and 2 other foreign mountaineers: John Snorri of Iceland and Juan Pablo Mohr of Chile, were found suspended by a rope 300-meters below the most treacherous bottleneck of K2. Fatehullah Khan told the media that the body of another foreign climber was also spotted through the telescope near that base camp.
The families of both the foreign climbers requested that the dead bodies be delivered to their respective countries. Army helicopters will be used to recover the dead bodies as they were suspended at a very high altitude. Muhammad Ali Sadpara, John Snorri Sigurjónsson (Iceland), and Juan Pablo Mohr Prieto (Chile) went on an unprecedented winter ascent of K2 without supplement oxygen in February. The trio went missing on February 5th and was declared dead after 2 weeks of an extensive search on February 18th, 2021.
