On Wednesday 3rd February 2021, Pakistan successfully test-fired the surface-to-surface ballistic missile Ghaznavi during the Annual Field Training Exercise of Army Strategic Forces Command. According to the media wing of the military, ISPR (Inter-Service Public Relations), this training launch was the concluding point of the annual field training exercise. The Ghaznavi is capable of delivering conventional, and nuclear warheads up to a range of 290 kilometers. Commander Army Strategic Forces Command Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, Army Strategic Forces Command, senior officers of the Strategic Plans Division, scientists, and engineers of the strategic organizations, all witnessed this training launch.
The Commander Army Strategic Forces Command praised the operational preparedness and excellence in handling the weapon system. He was fully satisfied with the training standards of the participating troops. Prime Minister Imran Khan, Presided Dr. Arif Alvi and the Service Chiefs congratulated all ranks of Army Strategic Forces Command on a successful launch. In the last month, Pakistan also conducted successfully, the flight-test of the surface-to-surface Shaheen-3 ballistic missile. It had a range of 2,750 kilometers.
