The first edition of the KPL (Kashmir Premier League) 2021 started in style with a mega draft launch event that was held on the 3rd of July 2021 in Islamabad. To pick the most balanced team that could claim the first and inaugural title of the KPL 2021, the six franchise owners, their teams, and advisors attended the event. Speeches were delivered by Taimoor Ali Khan (Director Cricket Operations KPL), Wasim Akram (Vice President of KPL), Shahid Khan Afridi (Brand Ambassador of KPL), Shaharyar Khan Afridi (Chairman Parliamentary Committee), and many others. For the very first time, KPL would represent Kashmir in the world of cricket. Players’ auction was also conducted in the event under the following categories; Overseas, Diamond, Platinum, Emerging, Gold, and Silver. The names of the six participating teams of KPL 2021 are; Rawlakot Hawks, Muzafarabad Tigers, Kotli Lions, Mirpur Royals, Bagh Stallions, and Overseas Warriors. The inaugural edition of the KPL (Kashmir Premier League) will be played between 6th to 17th August 2021 in the Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium.
