LEXUS Design Award is a very prestigious award that started a few years back in 2013. The main objective of this award is to foster the growth of ideas that will contribute to helping young creatives to design a better future. Last year, 6 finalists were selected by LEXUS from over 79 countries and more than 2042 submissions worldwide. Aqsa Ajmal the young industrial design graduate of NUST SADA (School of Art, Design, and Architecture) was amongst the 6 finalists. This was the first time that any Pakistani has been selected for this prestigious award. Aqsa presented the idea of “Pursewit.” Pursewit is a sewing machine designed to provide even the visually impaired with the ability to sew clothes in a simplified sewing mechanism. The LEXUS Design Award was finally awarded to the idea “Open-Source Communities” by BellTower from Kenya. Other finalists were from China, Russia, the USA, and France & Italy,

Iss award ka maqsad hai k growth k lye naye ideas ko parwaan charhaya jae ta k young creatives aik behtar mustaqbil design kar sakain. Pichhhlay saal LEXUS ne 6 finalists ko 79 countries main se aur 2042 se zada submissions main se select kia tha. Ye pehli baar tha k Pakistan main se kisi ko iss shandaar award k lye select kia gya tha. Aqsa ne “Persuwit” ka idea present kia tha. Persuwit aik aisi sewing machine hai jo iss tarah design ki gai hai k isay visually impaired ya beenai se mehrooom afraad bhi asani se kapray seenay k lye istimaal kar saktay hain. LEXUS Design Award bil-akhir jis idea ko award kia gya wo “Open-Source Communities” tha jisay BellTower ne design kia aur in ka taluq Kenya se hai.
