The news that Meera was admitted to a mental asylum in the US spread like wildfire on the internet a few days back. Different explanations and stories were presented about the incident but nobody knows what is true and what is not. Meera recently told her side of the story in an interview with BBC Urdu. The Baaji actress claimed that there is a lobby that keeps slandering her character to bring shame to her stardom. When asked about her visit to the New York Brooklyn Hospital, she told, that she went there for vaccination she even shared a video of her being vaccinated.
Meera claims that in the US she was subject to mental torture. She said she was struggling with depression which is why I went to the hospital but they mistook me for being crazy. The next day on my mom’s appeal, the Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed called the Pakistani Embassy in the US. At the request of the Pakistani Embassy, I was released.
