The Provincial Education Minister Murad Raas announced at an event in Lahore that a separate public school for transgender persons is being opened in Multan. This school will be operational from 7th July 2021. Earlier the Punjab government announced that separate transgender persons’ schools will be opened in multiple cities of the province.
This is the second school of its kind in Pakistan. The first school was opened in Lodhran, back in February 2019. Murad Raas said that the separate schools for transgender persons are being opened because of the behavior of other students towards them as this behavior could hurt the feelings of the transgenders. Due to the social discrimination in our country towards transgenders, they are not given the right to education. Some transgender persons, as a result, are forced to earn a livelihood through begging, prostitution, or dancing at events.
According to a census conducted in 2019, Pakistan is home to almost 300,000 transgender people. On March 7, 2018, a bill was approved unanimously by the Pakistani Senate for the protection of the rights of transgender people. The initiative of separate public schools for transgender persons is the result of this bill.

Ye school 7 July 2021 se kaam karna shuru karay ga. Iss se pehlay Punjab government ne ye ilaan kia tha ke transgender logon ke lye schools soobay ke mukhtalif cities main shuru kye jaen gey. Ye Pakistan main ani noiyat ka dosra school hai. Iss se pehlay pehla school February 2019 main Lodhran shehar main shuru hua tha. Murad Raas ne kaha ke transgender logon ke lye alag school dosray students ke rawaiyye ki wajah shuru kia gya hai kun k un ke rawaiyyed ki waja se transgenders ko takleef ho sakti hai. Hamaray mulk main in transgender logon ke baray main mawashrati imtiaaz ki waja se unhain taleem ke haq se mahroom rakha jata hai. Kuch transgender logon ko iss waja se apni rozi roti kamanay ke lye ya to bheek mangna parti hai, jisam faroshi karni parti hai, ya mukhtalif taqareeb main nachna parta hai. 2019 main huay aik survey ke mutabiq, Pakistan main taqreeban 300,000 transgender log hain. March 7, 2018, ko Pakistani senate ne transgender logon ke haq ke tahaffuz ke lye aik mutaffiqa bill manzoor kia. Transgender logon ke lye alag school ka faisla bhi isi bill ka hi natija hai.
