“Tik Tok” unbanned for the second time in Pakistan. Last month PHC (Peshawar High Court) ordered PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) to immediately ban the Chinese-owned short video-sharing app Tik Tok in Pakistan. This decision was taken after a petition was filed with the PHC to impose a ban on Tik Tok as it is spreading unlawful and immoral online content. But on Thursday, the Chief Justice of PHC Mr. Qaiser Rashid Khan instructed PTA to lift the ban and let Tik Tok operate in Pakistan under the condition that it will not upload “immoral content”. The director general PTA was also instructed to take action and remove the “immoral content” from Tik Tok. DG PTA told the court that they had taken up the matter with Tik Tok’s management. He also said that PTA will monitor all the illegal and immoral content being uploaded on Tik Tok.
