According to an official statement released on Thursday, Premier Motors Limited (PML) will assemble German auto giant Volkswagen Groups’ Skoda and Volkswagen cars in Pakistan. A memorandum was signed between PML and AKD Securities Limited, in which AKD securities Ltd. has been appointed as a financial adviser by PML to achieve the financial close of its Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) assembly plant project in Hub, Pakistan. The German auto giant Volkswagen Group is renowned worldwide for its high-quality products and safety standards. Volkswagen Group intends to enter PMLs’ fully integrated and cutting-edge production plant CKD assembly. This collaboration will mark the entry of locally assembled premium cars of Skoda and Volkswagen for the very first time in Pakistan. The construction of the CKD plant began in July 2021 and it will have the capacity of 30,000 vehicles per annum. Premium Volkswagen and Skoda Crossovers and SUVs will be initially launched by PML in Pakistan by mid-2023.
